Guided Fishing Trips
Pepacton Reservoir offers excellent Brown Trout and Smallmouth Bass fishing. Check out the photo gallery at Als Web-site (www.alssportstore.com). Fishing is best from shore in early April (trout season runs from April 1st-Sept. 30th) casting lures and fishing with minnows. The water is still cold and the trout are close to shore. As the water warms up in late April and May, you can fish from a rowboat or a canoe. You can fish with minnows by drifting or anchoring, or you can troll, using lures. As the water warms up even more in June, you can fish with minnows deeper, or troll with lures, using lead core line or downriggers.
Bass season starts the third Saturday in June and runs through Nov. 30. You can catch Bass while you are fishing for Trout. You can also also cast crank-baits and use a number of techniques to fish for Bass. Fishing for Bass is really good close to shore late in the season in Sept and Oct. Fishing from shore is also good at this time.
You can also fish in some of the steams, Esopus Delaware River, Beaverkill. Come and have a great time.
Life jackets and fishing equipment will be provided, if needed. You will need a NYS fishing license and a public access permit available at www.nycdep.org or check the NYC reservoir regulations in the NYS Freshwater Fishing Regulations Guide.
We will provide all equipment, i.e. rod, reel, line, etc. as part of the course. Additionally, we will provide breakfast and lunch for you. Let us put you in this picture with the grace and agility of a beautiful cast.
